Notes > Software Analysis / Testing > V-Model
|
The V-model extends the Waterfall model and therefore has the same limitations associated with it. The single-headed arrows in the V-model diagram show the order in which the main development activities take place. The first test phase begins after the coding has been completed. Unit testing involves testing individual modules. Integration testing involves testing a combination of modules which work together to create functionality. Modules are added to the Implementation Under Test until the whole system is tested.
In system testing, the system as a whole is tested against the requirements defined at the beginning of the development process. The double headed arrows in the V-model diagram show the links between each testing phase and the information source that drives it.
